Hi Guys

 

is there way of rolling out changes across the network to edit the context-menu explorer.

 

when a student right clicks in there my document, they get stuff like new, folder, shortcut etc...

 

I only really want them to see new, folder and nothing really else. Is there a away of doing this?

 

dont really want to disable the context-menu.

There are different methods/tools doing this, but it does involve some hacking. There aren't any GPOs as such.

i use a start up script that merges the exported entry at startup

I would jump at disabling students being able to create shortcuts but our Head of ICT says that it is a requirement for their course to be able to do it [?]

Request the documentation showing exactly what they need to do, and if they need to do it possibly add them to a special group that has a over ride for that.
