albanwr Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Anyone using Open DNS on an LEA level? What's the general opinion on the services?
FN-GM Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Dont use it on an LEA level but do use it on a large network. It has been very good, im not keen on the filtering as it puts adverts on the block pages.
tom_newton Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Always carry a business card from their VP Product Dev (met him at RSA in '07) just because it has their DNS servers written on the back... I even cut it down to fit in my new wallet Their DNS is generally fast and, as long as you don't mind occasionally getting the "opendns guide" instead of an error message, i'd say go for it. On the filtering front, however, it is fine for a simple home user perhaps, but DNS based filtering is easily bypassed. Certainly would not recommend this for an LA.
