SIMS Attendance Module Missing!

Ok we've just been upgraded to 7.120 and we have now lost access to the Attendance 6 Modules, but we have not had Attendance 7 installed on the system

 

Our LEA isn't being very helpful on this at all and our attendance officer is pulling her hair out.

 

At present we are in a sort of no-mans-land between Att6 and Att7

 

How can we retore access to Attendance 6, or get Attendance 7 onto the system?

Should just be integrated into SIMS.net on the Focus menu. If its not appearing you may need a patch from Capita to unlock it, so phone the Capita support helpdesk.

Surely this patch should have been released via SOLUS then?

Is there a way to check if it was?

 

Last time I phoned Capita I was told to go through my LA as they are who support is, not Capita..

I know when it was first released you had to phone Capita to get the patch released to you and would only release it if it was confirmed someone had been on training for Attendance 7. Not sure if this is the case now, as it was ages ago that we moved to Attendance 7.

We've installed 7.120 and Attendance 6 is still appearing on the bottom of the Focus menu just above examinations.

Attendance 7 is there, you don't have to install it but previous posters are correct in that you need a patch to wake it up and make it appear. Although it is some time since we applied that we didn't go on training and frankly nor did we need it. It is not that different from Att6 in many ways.

I think Attendance 6 can be turned off via a patch, there is a reverse patch too. I don't believe June forces it.

 

I'll be amazed if you haven't had Attendance 7 activated!

Then be amazed as we have no trace of Attendance 6 or 7!

I've emailed our main SIMS guy at the LA for some clarity (as in i want in writing) of what was said on the phone about it..

Have also mentioned to my line manager about it...

know it sounds daft but all the permission groups and users have changed, have you given specific users access to the module through permissions in the system manager?

This is what our LA say about it:

 

Attendance 6 and lesson monitor 6 has now ceased and are no longer supported by capita

 

Attendance 7 is within Lesson Monitor 7

Absolutely no help but I've done 5 updates for schools with no problem, get to a school today who'd done theirs themselves and had this exact problem. Took someone from Capita to remote in and sort it, apparently "some patch was missing". So you're not alone.

Does this patch (12183?) just reactivate Attendance 6 or is it to enable Attendance 7?

Attendance 6 is withdrawn - its death date was announced over 12 months ago. There is a patch that has to be applied by your support provider to switch on Attendance 7. Attendance 7 is no longer accessed via an icon, it is an intergal part of the application. Teachers click on the timeline and the register appears. There is also a menu route.
