Server 2008 versions

I see Microsoft sells Server 2008 with and without Hyper-V. What’s the difference between the two versions? Or am I just being thick

Unless you want to use server 2008 for virtualisation with MS virtualisation you just need the normal product.

Along with the vastly annoying "Windows 2008 Server WITHOUT HYPER-V" plastered all over everything, because that's how you name a product - after something it doesn't have!

Thats been discontinued anyway from R2 onwards, its just Server 2008 with now. The new Ramesys guide lists both with and without (as its for the original R1 release) but they are the same price now so just buy it with is my view.
