This may seem like an odd request but does anyone know of a way I can set a powerpoint presentation to be displayed at a set time each day.

The reason for this is that we have a television connected to a computer that shows a powerpoint presentation throughout the day in the canteen. I have been asked if a presentation can be shown an hour before lunch and during lunch displaying the menu for the day and then afterwards to go back to the normal presentation.

So basically I would want to set up a time so let’s say presentation1 is displayed until 12pm and then presentation2 (which shows the lunch menu) displays from 12pm until 2pm.

Any ideas (as the current solution is to switch the presentation each day which isn’t ideal.)

Thanks

Could you just use the AT command/scheduled tasks to do this?

Write one batch file for presentation one which runs Powerpoint with /s filename as a parameter

Second batch fill contains a pskill to zap the first Powerpoint, then a command for the second presentation, again with /s to launch straight into slideshow.

Set first to run either at PC startup assuming you have an automatic login, or at a time you know the PC will be on, second batch file when you want to switch over to lunch.

You could look around/search the forums looking at the digital signage solutions that are discussed, most of those should have a similar feature to what your looking for.
