Provider Load Failure on ROSP and ERROR: ACCESS DENIED on gpresult?

Hi all,

A computer stopped loading the printers (through GP) so i looked in the event Log and saw event 1090

This i usually fix with a simple script:

net stop winmgmt

cd /d %windir%\system32

regsvr32 /n /I userenv.dll

cd wbem

mofcomp scersop.mof

its all to do with WMI, anyway this didnt work and im now getting:

Provider Load Failure, when trying "Group Policy Results"

and also ERROR: Access Denied, when running GPresult from cmd

I could quite easily rebuild this machine, but i wondered if anyone else has a solution, maybe for next time?

Any advice please?

Hi Micheal,

Thanks for the reply, Ithe machine is an XP machine on SP2...

When i try to run a result of group policy on my vista sp2 machine i get the above error.

When im logged into the xp machine and run: gpresult.exe i get access denied.

Yep, all else is good, just this machine !

If you're getting access denied messages, chances are something has been enabled or disabled. This link outlines available policies you can implement in your network.

If you scroll down the page you should see a table of policies and what they do.
