Hi,

Was just wondering what causes

High Collision or Drop rates on HP Procurve 2524. Its always on the same port.

We also get excessive CRC/Alignment errors on the same port.

Thanks

Half / Full duplex mismatch. Or could be the network interface of whatever is connected is malfunctioning. (e.g PC network card).

What is connected to that particular port - do you know?

Hi,

The 2 ports in question, there are just a pc connected to both of them ! Errors don't occur all the time but every few days. Network seems to be slow over them.

We are having the same issues, brand new hp switch, brand new hp computers, brand new CAT6 cabeling, and old CAT5e patch cabels. Is there any way to fix the duplex thingy with a script?

You'd have to hard code the duplex on the switch, which would involve going under each interface and changing the duplex to Full or Half, whatever you're after.

I'd suggest swapping the NIC's in the PC's, changing the cables to the wall jack and hard coding the duplex on both the ports in question.
