FireFox error code

Just out of interest could anyone tell me what this error means:

 

Error: Permission denied to call method Location.toString

 

Reason: I've been having issues with Firefox today, on one particular site - just happens to be my school VLE. So I've been exploring the menus, options, tools and stuff in Firefox as the issue doesn't arise when using IE. Came across the Error console and found lots of errors for Edugeek but sadly nothing for my VLE. The above is from Edugeek and I wondered what it meant.

The error sounds like some javascript being denied access to the current location for some reason possibly security settings.

I narrowed the issue with the other site down to java as well. Though just why it works in IE and not in Firefox may remain a mystery, perhaps I have permissions set differently, since I hardly use IE.

 

Have uninstalled Java, for the time being, might have been a java update that came in yesterday. Will see how it goes, thanks.

Ahh, Java != JavaScript, so reinstalling the former won't fix a problem with the latter.

 

Location is the JS object which handles the current URL, and moving to new addresses. Access to this object between frames/windows originating from different sites is restricted to prevent/reduce the opportunitites for Cross-Site Scripting. Obviously certain browsers are less security minded than others (or just report errors more!)
