TNE Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Sky Sports | Home | News | United accept Ronaldo offer [Edit - oh not yet he hasn't just talking to them... It will happen I guess] GJE With £80 million on offer you can bet the agents will be pushing for it. 10% commission would do nicely.
garethEds Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 I'd love it if there was a transfer market for teachers....... Would be amusing. Sacking Heads like managers if they do not perform etc. GJE
torledo Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 80 million......does that include his wages over a 5-year contract ? if not add another 50 million i suppose. Do Real have a printing press hidden away in the bernabeu
Guest richard_s Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I don't see what all the fuss is about. He is just a human being like the rest of us and not some sort of supreme being.
torledo Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I don't see what all the fuss is about. He is just a human being like the rest of us and not some sort of supreme being. he's definitely not worth 80million. no footballer is. Real have been down this road before with the galactico's, they shattered the transfer record twice to land zidane and figo, they won a european cup or two, zidane and figo got old [in footballing terms] one retired the other was offloaded and this was before the galactico's effectively disbanded. IT was probably fun for the Real Madrid fans while it lasted, but any attempt to recreate that is mainly vanity because even a Real team featuring raul, zidance, figo, ronaldo, roberto carlos, beckham et al. suffered it's fair share of defeats in europe and in spain. If your going to attempt to buy success then adding ronaldo and kaka to an already good team is as good a way of going about it as any, but it can't guarantee trophies. Although i think i know who'll be made favourties for the european cup next year now. So yes, he's only a footballer. And it won't/can't last, but there is previous with this kind of largesse by Real Madris presidents as they seek to carry out their manifesto pledges. If anything that kind of transfer fee is a talking point.

Who are you saying 'the rest of us' to, human! Respect the demi-gods or we will visit you with a plague of BeOS installations ... and no, he isn't worth that money!
