making images in photoshop for powerpoint

Hi gang,

 

I was asked at the last second today to create a powerpoint presentation for a BSF meeting, I'm not to use the usual template but to create one. I had an idea in mind so I created a banner with the school logo.

 

Soon as I drop it in to powerpoint and resize it suddenly looks rubbish.

 

is a the any rules I need to follow or a certain resolution, size I need to set them to before droping images into powerpoint?

I think, but don't take my word for it... a standard PPT 2003 slide is ~ 750 x 1000 pixels.

 

 

It works similar to word etc I think, if a page is 8" x 12" - it would be around 800 x 1200 pixels (x100)

sa here watching TV I was starting to think that me self, for some reason 720 width jumped in my head. will give that a try.

I agree the larger the better, but the problem is high resolution images can be a couple of megabytes in size. Not ideal for PowerPoint. I think you'll just need to play with resolution/file sizes to get the right combination.

 

The only other tip I can offer is when you have a picture within PowerPoint, highlight it, then hold the Ctrl key down. If you then drag the corner this will re-size the image, but keep it in proportion. Hopes this makes sense

Yep, thanks for that... I picked that trick up using photoshop and found out today with my delight that it can be done in powerpoint.
