apearce Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) Some of you may have seen a conversation about this already but here is something a bit more official. @rpwillis and I have been working hard to put a conference together which is designed for you and for staff who are in charge of getting your users onto your Learning Gateway, whether this is the RM Kalidos, SIMs Learning Gateway or another other SharePoint hosted solution. http://www.salamandersoft.co.uk/learninggatewayconference/images/logo.jpg We have setup two path ways which are Building the Learning Gateway and User Adoption. We've got some other SharePoint MVPs to come and talk and they are going to talk about best practice for your SharePoint and SQL servers, branding, site structures while on the user adoption side we have schools talking about their usage and how to get users onto you site. We also have a keynote speaker - Steve Beswick who is the Director of Education at Microsoft. I'm afriad the event isn't free as we have to cover the costs and the cheapest we can do it is for £150. Which if you are arguing with your finance person is cheaper than a cover member of staff for the day. We also have a session on data security from BECTA which in case you didn't know if your school get it wrong you will end up putting your headteacher in jail. So come and find out how to do it right, so you can get it wrong and get them in jail ;-) Please visit the website and register. It would be great to have a lot of people there from EduGeek there. http://www.learninggatewayconference.co.uk Alex and Richard Edited June 8, 2009 by apearce 1

rpwillis Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 That should be fixed now, thanks for letting us know. It was an issue with my hosting company when servers in the cluster are switched in between page requests. Shouldn't happen again now. Richard
EduTech Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) can somebody film it, podcast it or something......? please I did send Alex an email about this, but it is stuck on our email queue's at the moment. I was thinking of something similar to what we did at the Edugeek Conference, Hopefully they might have a nicer Firewall here lol @Richard Just to let you know i registered fine this time, all seems to be fine now Ta Very much James. apearce Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 I'm afraid that we will not be doing any free streaming on the sessions. The event is being filmed for attendees to receive a DVD of the 10 sessions and this will be posted out after the conference which is part of the cost of attending. However...we have decided to use the twitter tag #LGC so you could always follow that. http://www.learninggatewayconference.co.uk A.
