We have a Win2003 server and XP-Pro clients

Both the Pupils and Staff have mandatory profiles and restricted GP.

Occasionally the GP does not work and results a Folder Redirection (ID 112 and 1085) when it happens both the redirection of “My Documents” fails (resulting the machine displays my (admin) folder! I have also noted that the standard Login Script also failed – none of the mappings has worked?

Is the failure due to the server software or is it related to the network is self? If so what is the best approach the issue and how to check what is happening?

Hi

I know this is a stab in the dark but check the clock on the pc is synced up to the domain controller. If the time is not correct kerberos fails.

I have also had this when a switch is playing up and the machine is not getting an ip correctly.

Lastly if it was the server and I do presume its a server rather than a share on a say xp machine which would only allow 10 connections it would most likely be failing for a lot of users rather than just one.

Just a thought

Thanks for the reply

1. Synced up to the domain controller - checked and OK

2. Dedicated Server and about 120+ clients

3. I will check IP to see if to works correctly

I you can think of anything else let me know
