Geoff Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Nagios/Groundworks rely on net-snmp for snmp support. Thus you actually have to add the MIBS to that. How to do so is included in the net-snmp documentation.... Net-SNMP http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/docs/README.agent-mibs.html
russdev Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 Sorry having monday moment here.. So your syaing that have to add it to net_snmp where is that store as search on groundworks folder only brings up the documentation.
Geoff Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Net SNMP keeps its MIBs in '/usr/share/snmp/mibs/' here.
russdev Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 Net SNMP keeps its MIBs in '/usr/share/snmp/mibs/' here. Right added the file to groundworks and net-snmp directory but still no joy... Russ
Geoff Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 alter/edit your snmp.conf to include the line: mibs +ALL
russdev Posted June 2, 2009 Author Posted June 2, 2009 Was going to start anothe thread but with 3 snmp thread already thought better add it on to this one. Got to get my head around this whole groundworks snmp stuff. As it stands I correct to belive if just polling a device then you don't need a mib file (that was I was told on groundworks forum). Right second got a router broadcasting snmp packets will getif says it is. But groundworks is set to look for snmp_if_1 UNKNOWN 06-02-2009 11:00:52 13d 2h 28m 6s 3/3 SNMP problem - No data received from host snmp_ifbandwidth_1 UNKNOWN 06-02-2009 11:05:51 13d 2h 25m 37s 3/3 SNMP problem - No data received from host udp_snmp UNKNOWN 06-02-2009 11:00:50 13d 2h 20m 40s 3/3 Uptime is problem - No data received from host I assume that not sending those snmp tags (can't see them in getif). So assume got to create new profile for this device with correct tags in but what best and easiest way to get those tags into groundworks. Russ
