Server down! 10.5.7 server update

Hello,

 

I have just installed the OS X Server 10.5.7 update on an Intel Xserve and on reboot it got to the login Window. When i login it just goes to the Space image and stays there. I can't login as any other user since i have disabled all other logins (including Root) for this machine. It is also our mail server although no real mail is stored on it. How can i get this thing back up ???

 

Any ideas.

 

I have logged into single user mode and run fsck -fy and fsck_hfs -fy /dev/driveVolume and it comes back as all things are fine. I am looking at how to run Disk Util in single user mode but can't find any info. Apparently in Tiger /etc/rc did the trick to start things off but it is no longer there in Leopard, according to the Forums i have read.

You'd be better asking Apple, presumably you have a license for OSX server and therefore they should be supporting upgrades.

It's OK i have managed to sort it now. The problem was our school is moving and i had already packed all my stuff up ready to go. I was reluctant to go through all my boxes to find the OS X Server CD. But i did in the end and was lucky enough to have it sitting on the top.

 

Booted off the disc ran disk util which fixed quite a few permissions and then rebooted. Logged in and all was fine
