bonfire99 Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Hi Zerohour, Could you please send me the beta firmware as well? I would really appreciate it.
arthur071169 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 After 2 days trying to resolve this... I have added the latest official firmware (dated 2010), made no difference. The printer is visible, the web interface works, it is just always reporting to clients, and even the eb interface as offline.... when it is not! Looking forward to trying the beta update. regards, Arthur. Hi Zerohour, Could you please send me the beta firmware as well? I would really appreciate it.
oldmangrady Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Hello ZeroHour I'd really appreciate it if you could send me the link to the firmware upgrade. It seems our latest batch of printers are suffering with the same problem everyone describes. Hope you can help. Kind Regards

6Foot2 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 We are seeing this problem but not on our 2055DN's but on our 2015 lasers. Anyone else seeing the same or got a solution to this on 2015 laser printers?
ianITguy Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 bulldog5046/sjl I have sent you a PM with details about the firmware. Please post your success/failure or PM me. If anyone else want to try it out (at your own risk btw) then PM me or post a message here. Hi Zero, Seems incredible but this issue continue for so long. I am using the 20101025 firmware and have the same problem of it going to sleep. Only bought thing 1 month ago. Would you send the link for the beta firmware too plez (bizarre still beta) I just left the HP web site and could only find the 20101025 firmware on their site
featured_spectre Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Daft question here, is the NIC on the printer set to turn off/sleep if it is inactive? I had the same problem, told it to stay online unless physically switched off at the base unit or by the wall.

Good question, I did think i had been thru all the settings and could not locate one like you describe. Where did you see that setting of turn off?

I have had a look at the HP site and I cannot find the firmware update. Could you post a link to the page where I can download it? Many thanks.

Edit: Use this firmware update with caution: I followed the instructions and heeded the warnings but it still killed my printer. Edited October 5, 2011 by 6Foot2 Add detail to the post.
markdavies120 Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Hi ZeroHour Would really appreciate the beta update if you dont mind. Many thanks.
Triumph5ta Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 This worked instantly on our 2008 R2 print server Printers and Faxes> Right Click on Printer Select Printer Properties Select Ports tab Select Configure Port Uncheck SNMP Status Enabled
ZeroHour Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 This worked instantly on our 2008 R2 print server Printers and Faxes> Right Click on Printer Select Printer Properties Select Ports tab Select Configure Port Uncheck SNMP Status Enabled Hi Just to say doing that simply disables it checking the status of the printer, it doesnt actually mean everything is working. Printers will never report offline status if SNMP is off.
gpurcell Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 We just started having this problem with some 2055's and Windows 7 Pro. After reading the last 20 pages, sounds like I need the beta update. Could I please have this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Greg
DanElms Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Hi ZeroHour Any chance of getting the link to the beta firmware - we have exactly the same problem with a printer here... Thanks Dan
