CyberNerd Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 ubuntu dapper: sed 's/breezy/dapper/g' sources.list > sources mv sources sources.list apt-get update apt-get dist-upgrade reboot icmp_seq=465 Destination Host Unreachable Doh ! better be in early tommorrow
webman Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Hehe, made the same mistake on mum's Kubuntu installation trying to go from breezy => dapper - wouldn't have it. I ended up re-installing, but it was a problem with X that I had. Hope you manage to get it sorted
CyberNerd Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 phew, its working. The upgrade decided to take-out the networking. apt-get update -f fixed it after some messing around. I gotta learn to think these things through a bit before I hit that [Enter] key !
ico2 Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Hehe, I also know the pain of rebooting via ssh and finding it doesnt come back up, or worse, uninstalling the network driver / bringing the interface down / killing the dhcpcd
