Great piece of free software, we started using this last week and it does what it says on the tin.

 

Good for anyone who wants to log who sends documents to a printer.

 

We had to get something like this in as we were having students/staff printing something 100+ times!!

yes it is a good piece of software, however the full package is much better!

Yeah i totally agree, and i think we will get it at some point in the near future.

There is also this log distiller avalible to process the resulting logs into a nice easy to read table

Very handy, I used it on Friday to rumble some complete and utter cabbage who put acetate in one of printers and killed the fuser.

Use it here to monitor my printers. We will be buying the full package soon, and are considering the version that also allows you to manage photocopying, so we can manage our printing and copying all from one place!

That would be PaperCut MF, before you go down that road its well worth having a chat about what copiers you have and how you wish users to authenticate on the system (cards etc)
