chkdsk goes backwards

does any one know why some times chkdsk goes backwards when checking the disk for errors ?

Just guessing... but probably along the lines of it finds a certain type of problem, which means there could be more errors that were previously hidden by the problem it found so goes back to check for them? if that makes sense?!

Thats usually cus its found an error, not sure why it does go backwards though, maybe cus its found more stuff to fix!! Also why when in recovery mode does it say Checkdisk is fixing errors 3 times????
