Classroom Voice Amplification System

We have a few hard of hearing children in school and the powers that be want me to look for a Voice Amplification system for the classroom.

 

Have found the Soundfields Front Row to Go system which looks like just the thing, but can't find a cost at the minute.

 

Has anyone got any experience of this system? Any other recommendations?

 

I did think about some sort of wireless headset for the teacher to wear connected to their laptop (which is permanently connected to the SMART Boards whilst teaching).

 

Ideally it needs to be portable so it can go from classroom to classroom when needed. One feature I do like about the Front Row to Go is the battery, so if the power dies the lesson doesn't have to be completely interrupted.

We have Soundfield systems (possibly a different product though) in all classrooms where the teacher has a wireless microphone and there are six amped speakers around the room. This means that all of the children can hear the teacher even down at the back of the classroom.

 

The wireless mics take a couple of rechargable batteries which is the main issue with these systems as batteries do go missing at an alarming rate and are replaced with non-rechangable ones at times which then helpfully explode (well leak) when charged.

 

The systems themselves are really good and its the same story with user error being the main cause of greif.

We've purchased two of these:

 

Carlsbro Speakezee PA Package

 

One for a teacher with voice projection issues, and one in a room where a couple of hard of hearing students have problems hearing the teacher.

 

Great kit, good sound, portable, and the teachers love them. They love the wireless mics.

 

We've placed them on a shelf, high up, with a security cable to stop them being pinched (the PA systems, that is - not the teachers..).

 

We didn't buy ours from this site, we got them from our local music shop, for about £99 each.

Soundfield looks good. I had a demo of one and it was excellent.
