I have an issue thats beginning to irriate me. It appears in Word 2007 I can't apply all the fancy formatting features on images of any type e.g. Glow unless the picture is a screenshot. Has it always been this limited? Seems like quite an oversight in my opionion. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean the effects in the Picture Styles group (on the Format Ribbon when clicking on a picture?)

You should be able to apply those to any picture regardless of whether it's an inserted jpg, clip art or a screenshot. (Just tested to make sure i'm not lying to you!) :)

Exactly the ones in Picture Styles. It's duch an odd problem and has occured on all my home machines. I'm pretty sure at one point it always worked, but now, even on a new install, it will only apply to screenshots, that is just pasted into Word.
