I can't find much about it on the internet and its supposed to be released at the end of this year apparently. Currently using Sharepoint 2003 and moodle for our intranet/vle and its working great but I would like to move to the latest software at some point.

It would be great if the new version of sharepoint could span different drives. Shame its 64bit only though, I don't see the advantages of this from a single server perspective.

Considering you'll be lucky to find a 32bit CPU in a new server now, I can't see your complaint? All Opterons and Xeons are 64bit. And if you're still running a 32bit CPU'd server at the end of this year, I'd be questioning why!

Well if that's true then I welcome it with open arms But from my experience of exchange 2003 on a 32bit server and exchange 2007 of a 64bit, the 2003 variant ran much faster and was more reliable. I eventually downgraded to exchange 2003 and have not had a problem since. Probably due to it being a more mature product I guess.

A central location accessible from anywhere would be nice - but the speeds you get from hong kong to london make it...interesting

How about this: Supported global solutions for Office SharePoint Server Lots of information there. I know it can be done, as that'd be a rather large problem if it couldn't! 1

NewOrder Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I guess the only thing we know is its called Sharepoint 2010. 64bit is obvious. Powershell and changes to lists just rumours. Will it be different and will it ship in 2010? The fact that there are no major leaks or speculation means one of 2 things its either not as developed as they had hoped or the NDA's are working. I suspect the former. I guess the 2003 users will upgrade but will those on 2007 bother?
