Hi

DNS hs suddenly decided not to register ANY DHCP clients. The clients are on the domain but the only records that show up in DNS are servers that have a fixed IP.

Interestingly yesterday, i done a DNS Scavenge and it got rid of all the DHCP ones and left the Fixed IP ones.

Ive restarted both domain controllers as they both have DHCP and DNS bit its made no difference.

I can ping one of the DHCP windows stations by name but it wont do an NSLOOKUP

Help!!!

I found the issue. Last week i changed the Administrator password and so DHCP was using the wrong credentials to update DNS. I typed in the new admin password and they now register

Why are you using your administrator account to update DNS? Safer to set up a separate account (only needs to be a user, not domain admins) and use that account as credentials. Then when you change your admin password you don't need to keep chasing up tasks like this. :nerd:
