Moving site to another machine

I'd like some advice on moving a site created with the Edugeek package. I've got it working and looking the way I want, and in the summer it will replace the current version of our school website. In order to make sure this can be done I've set up another machine as a server. From my machine I've exported the database. On the server I've imported the database and set up a new Edugeek/Joomla install, replacing the axe_rescheek_red template with a copy of the altered version from my machine. Parts of the 'new' site, such as the slideshow have changed to match the original version on my old machine, but the menus, front page etc haven't changed. The information is there in the imported database, but this is not reflected on the 'new' site. What else should I move across to make the change complete?

You could use a component called 'joomlapack' (sorry no link on mobile) back up your site and database to a zip file. Move the file to new machine unzip in web root. Create database and user, then to though the install as normal it'll recreate the site on the new machine

Just copy all the files and paste it onto the new server.

Then import the database

Then alter the config file to suite the new Server.

Couldn't believe how straightforward joomlapack was. Took me a moment to locate the kickstart file on their site, but now everything's in place I reckon a backup and restore should take no longer than 15 minutes. Thanks again.
