Steve83 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Hi Guys, Looking for recommendations really from your experiences - I know theres a thread up already about machines, but looking to see whats to offer really. So far, i've got a few machines on evaluation which is : Viglen Genie Ultra Pro and the Ultra Small Lenovo M58 Eco - with All in one stand. Thinking about the HP7900 USD with All in one stand. Any other brands you can think of? Trying to stay away from dell as a lot of our GX270 systems are now failing due to a known problem which Dell fixed some, but never replaced all! Looking at roughly £500 Per Machine, and volumes of 90 > 120 machines Dual Core 2Gb RAM 160 + HDD Optical can be removed if needed. 17" Screen and a All in one stand ideally.. Any advice would be ace Ste

Any advice would be ace Ste Hi Steve Are you specifically looking at branded, if not I will supply a quotation based on the specification and if you want an eval unit to try out, I will have one sent out for you to check for compatability issues (there shouldn't be any!) and, if you want to open the box, check build quality.
dhicks Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Dual Core, 2Gb RAM, 160 + HDD, Optical can be removed if needed, 17" Screen and a All in one stand ideally. That pretty much describes our Media Suite: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/25054-new-suite.html#post239949 All-in-one machines purchased from SCL Online. Nice and compact, with 17" screens, but take entirely standard components so you can specify whatever you like (and SCL are helpful when it comes to stuff like motherboards and whatnot). We had the optical drives removed too - it gives you room for a second harddrive in the case if you like. -- David Hicks 1
skunk Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Do the All-in-One machines from SCL have adjustable height screens? Not an absolute requierment for our systems, but definately a nice to have.
