new tape drive problems

Hi

 

I installed the following in our Dell SC1420 server

 

Hp 960 ultrium tape drive

Adaptec 39320A scsi card

 

I purchased a cheap U320 scsi cable from ebay which has 6 'heads'

 

I connected head 1 to the scsi card, head 5 to the tape drive and on to head 6 I plugged an active terminator.

 

The problem I have is that the tape drive powers up fine but the scsi card can't see the tape drive. I have changed the device number of the tape drive as well but it didn't help.

 

What am I doing wrong?

Something in the SCSI BIOS maybe?
