LCPSWolf Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Hey, I'm trying to write a script that will disable IE7's popup blocker completely. My PC is running XP SP3 and IE7. The technet article How to configure the Pop-up Blocker on a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2 that gives reg keys to disable popup blocker in sp2 does not appear to work; changing the setting in the regedit does not change the setting in the application (unless I have to restart my PC - haven't tried that. I have however, restarted IE) I've also tried to change the specific popup blocker settings in the various zones as is listed in the above link - also no help. Ideas? I can't use GPO as I'm not running a Windows network (yet). We're all Novell until summer. Can't wait. Thanks for reading. Damian Bailey Lead Tech Louisa County Public Schools, VA, USA
Michael Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 It's very easy to switch this off using a GPO. I've tried the registry entry Microsoft have suggested and I can confirm it doesn't work. There must be another setting somewhere. You may want to take a look at the IE7 IEAK, because maybe you can disable it by default this way?
