PEO Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 (edited) Ok we are taking delivery of 10 Mac's and an xserver in the next week, Which anti virus would you recommend? Edited March 18, 2009 by PEO
AntonioRocco Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Hi The usual ones you should be familiar with? Sophos have a mac client as does MacAfee. Symantec are still doing one although its not that obvious from their website. The last time I looked into it you had to call them. To be honest I'm not a fan of Symantec's products. I've heard Avast and AVG are developing a client for the mac platform? Perhaps they're now available. Something you could Google for? ClamX is free to download. Intego provide AV software for the mac platform as well. They also do a Server version. Antonio Rocco (ACSA)
Ric_ Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I use Sophos since we have a license for it... I assume it's doing its job!
mac_shinobi Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 unless you mean for when your using bootcamp or vmware fusion you have clam win in the voting list and that is for windows not for os x afaik.

You're right but technically so is the poll as there is a port for OSX here: ClamXav They do call it ClamXav though but it is based on the ClamWin engine. Interestingly it looks like ClamWin even has a server console to control clients now but I don't know how far along it it. Edited March 19, 2009 by SYNACK
