Remote Buddy for using the little white Apple remote (and my iPhone) as a remote for any software

Audio Hijack for sample grabbing from the web

Firefox for when Safari won't work sometimes

Flip4Mac components for playing wmv files in Quicktime Player

VLC for playing more types of video file

AppTrap for removing support files when I trash unwanted applications

Google sketchup for simple 3D visualisations

Jing for creating quick online screenshares when helping people understand software

Omnigraffle for quick system diagrams and flowcharts

Photoshop Elements cos it's amazing value and works fine on a Macbook

Microsoft Remote Desktop for running Windows apps from the server

Quinn because it's free and doesn't use the Tetris brand name so won't get banned

YouNote Desktop to go with the free YouNote iPhone note taking app

Disk Inventory X to see what's hogging my hard drive

Onyx system cleaner because it looks like MacJanitor is going under now

SuperDuper for making bootable backups

... I forgot SmartSleep which makes by Macbook hibernate instead of sleeping (no more waking up with only 5% batt left!)

and Briefcase Lite for copying Mac files onto my iPhone so I can carry them with me.

This looks pretty cool if you need to remotely access your Mac. :)

 

Slink is the easy way to remotely connect to your home network. All shared services on your home network automatically appear in the Finder, iTunes, iPhoto, and other applications. (Just as they do at home!)
