Has anybody managed to get search engine friendly URL's working on EMBC Web1/Web2? I've enabled it but it keeps redirecting back to the homepage. I'm not sure if this is anything to do with the fact that I am also having to type in index.php to get the page to display. I assume that Plesk is probably looking for index.html or similar.

Thank you.

I've logged a call with Synetrix to see whether the index.php is something they have to change however any help from somebody already using Synetrix hosting would be appreciated!

Log into your Plesk Panel and add it yourself; save the need for them to do so.

As for your SEO urls; I don't know the answer there, sorry.

I can't see Web Directories. I did try looking already.

Edit: Found it! It's under Virtual Directories.

Totally there for me :] (I'm on web1 though but you'd think they would be the same for manglement purposes)

I found it under Virtual Directories.

Web1 has the old Plesk version. Web2 is running version 9 with Web1 running version 8.

Right ... Because that makes sense =)

So, you found it? good.

I found it but it hasn't made much difference. I put index.php at the top of the list but it still comes up with a 404 Not Found unless I type in /index.php which is odd.

Right, so I can't get that to work.

Apparantly I need an ISAPI rewriter for the SEF links to work. Perhaps this isn't installed and that is why it doesn't work.

I'm so tempted to find a cheap Linux host.

Why do I get the feeling you're taking the.... :D

I've not completely wasted my time as turning off the friendly URL's has fixed the index.php not showing problem.

No no, I wasn't taking it out of you; I'm just consistently surprised by Synetrix. - The conference tomorrow will be interesting.

I would have thought they would have a Windows and Linux Server, especially dealing with school and the wide range of skillsets ;p

That said i haven't got a windows server yet, not had much demand for it though :D hehe
