Neville Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 We have a laptop that will not read usb devices and the error message is that firefox is blocking usb function. I dont where to look.
rolfea Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 would the console shed any light? I look here with Workgroup manager permissions, not sure of Firefox ones would also show up. might be worth a butchers.
ricki Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 hi Is this laptop a stand alone or a network laptop? If its a standalone check that you have all the correct drivers in the device manager. If its a network laptop your network administrator needs to have a look at it and log on as them and see if it works for them. It could be a service stopped or group policy. Richard
Neville Posted March 5, 2009 Author Posted March 5, 2009 Yes the apple Mac Laptop is a standalone. Also where do I find the console you are refering to.

If you got to applications and then go to the utilities folder it is in there. Can usually find a list of errors in the Console Messages or system.log under log files. alternately you can click on go (on the top menu bar) and there should be a utilities option in there and you'll find the console in there.
