Using printscreen with windows media player

Hi folks,

 

I have some students on XP clients trying to do a printscreen of a DVD movie and pasting into word, problem is when it's pasted the screenshot keeps playing the DVD as a movie and not as a still image, if you close media player the image stops playing also and you get a black picture within the screenshot.

 

Have tried the video acceleration changes with no sucess has anyone lese come across this problem and managed to solve it without having to purchase software?

Use VLC media player it has an option when you right click to "take screenshot" i had a similar problem it just took a picture of the screen with a black square where the film should be, MS probably put this in as a feature to prevent just this.

tried the overlay setting in wmp?

thanks, but do you have an MSI for that package?

 

(overlay didn't work either)

Options > Performance > Advanced, then untick 'Use overlays' should definitely do the trick
