Air Conditioning

Does anyone have any advice about installing a temporary aircon solution in our server room (with a long term view to "proper" climate control being installed in the future).

 

What I'm looking for is a portable aircon box that can cool 22000 BTUs, which is what I estimate is required based on 4 staff, 7 servers, 6 workstations a few printers etc in a room about 40m2. The best portable I have found is 12000 BTUs and a max room size of 30m2.

I would push for proper installation now rather than waste money on an interim solution.

 

Get a local air con firm in to price it.

I'd have to agree with Plexer if you go down the portable route it will take a lot of convincing SMT that you need a proper installation later. Depending on who you talk to the cost could be any thing from 5K to 10K so I can understand your predictament.
