u8dmtm Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Does anyone have any advice about installing a temporary aircon solution in our server room (with a long term view to "proper" climate control being installed in the future). What I'm looking for is a portable aircon box that can cool 22000 BTUs, which is what I estimate is required based on 4 staff, 7 servers, 6 workstations a few printers etc in a room about 40m2. The best portable I have found is 12000 BTUs and a max room size of 30m2.
plexer Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I would push for proper installation now rather than waste money on an interim solution. Get a local air con firm in to price it. Ben
wesleyw Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I'd have to agree with Plexer if you go down the portable route it will take a lot of convincing SMT that you need a proper installation later. Depending on who you talk to the cost could be any thing from 5K to 10K so I can understand your predictament. Wes
wesleyw Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 http://www.climatecontrollers.co.uk/newpages/hiring.htm Have a look the last one on the list is pricey but it will do your room size! Wes
