danIT Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Does the current CLEO MIS Tool for Moodle import the Staff as well as the Pupil accounts?
Ric_ Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 IIRC... it doesn't, but you only need a CSV of staff. The CLEO tool adds the lesson functionality so that classes of pupils can be picked out. This functionality doesn't really apply to teachers because they are the one creating the courses in the first place. 1
ChrisH Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Staff are not imported with the CLEO tool. As Ric says a quick bit of CSV is all thats required.
danIT Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 So you would need to allow staff to be able to create courses themselves rather than having the courses pre-defined for them. Supposse that keeps course numbers down lol
ChrisH Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Yes unfortunately you still need to assign staff their roles.

Supposse that keeps course numbers down lol It's up to you... allowing staff to create courses does allow more flexibility though and it's a lot less work for you I copied the structure that ChrisH uses - categories for each department with sub-categories for the subjects and then sub-categories for KS3, KS4 and A-level. By doing this you don't get courses all over the place and you can limit the sub-categories within which each teacher can create courses (or delegate control of the sub categories to a teacher in each department).
