Is anyone else having difficulty getting the "hall of fame 09" on World Maths Day 09 to load from beind their school firewall? I just get the loading screen and can't login half the time.

 

when I load it either at home or on a direct line here the page loads without any problems and I can login also.

 

We're using ISA server 2006/Smartfilter

it sounds like you still need to allow access to the World Maths Day servers. The IP range you need to allow is 203.99.142.0 /24 (203.99.142.0 - 203.99.142.255). Please note that this is a separate IP range (and separate servers) to Mathletics, so if you are a school that uses Mathletics you will still need to allow access to the World Maths Day servers.

the backend of World Maths Day 2009 is very different to that of 2008, and has been carefully designed to be able to handle the high load of users prior to, during, and after the event period. I had heard this about it, and it's very good news. It's not so much WMD I dread; anything major that relies on our flaky proxy is baaaaad. (Note to self: build a new one very soon.)
