iPhone Dev Center

which is on apples iphone dev site that is meant to be a simple tutorial on how to do a hello world application.

On there it shows a screen grab of a dialog window of what I am meant to see when I go to File --> New Project

When I open x code it does not give me that I just see a list of different types of things I can do or application types ie cocoa application, carbon application etc all in a list instead of icons of Window Application etc as per the screen grab.

Also if I download the example of hello world and try and open and run it it first of all comes up with an error message stating that it was created in a newer version of x code ( where or how do I update x code - if thats the case ) and also how do I get it to run in the simulator or what do I need to do to get started ?

Ive slapped my 2nd disc in ( from os x 10.5 ) installed x code

I have also downloaded the iphone sdk and installed that over x code

what am I missing or what do I need to do now so I can at least get this hello world app working. If I can get that working then am sure the other tutorials should be a bit easier to do.

Aside from obviously learning objective C which will obviously be a steep slope lol

I restarted x code ( this post was from a while back though ) and it seemed to come up fine after that.

As for objective c - any tutorials or video footage to help me learn that ?
