gshaw Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 ...what would you be getting? - standard desktops (one user one box) - VDI (full fat windows but running on a server cluster) - pure terminal services (mutli users on one server) Would be an interesting poll but I can only see a new thread button
Butuz Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 VDI is the best of both worlds! If you can afford it! Butuz
dhicks Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 ...what would you be getting? Unless this was for somewhere that would be heavily in to video-editing or similar, I'd put in 11 NComputing-based "thin client" workstations, maybe supplemented with some netbooks if we had the wireless infrastructure. -- David Hicks
User3204 Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Currently we have no thin client, so it's all fat at the moment, but I'd like to move towards VDI for Technology / Art / CompSci. It depends upon costs, and what the room was to be used for. I want to move towards thin client for some rooms, as I hope it's a way to push out more machines across the site.
