I not used PXES.

To boot our non-PXE NICs we use an etherboot image on a hard drive or ide flash rom. This gives the NIC PXE capability and allows it to boot from tftp. tftp location is specified in DHCP.

 

download a HDD image rom for the nic

http://rom-o-matic.net/5.4.2/

then

 cat eb-5.4.2-yournic.zdsk > /dev/hdX 

 

where hdX is the hard drive you want to image.

(they also do floppy images and cd .iso's)
