Running a report against a deleted reg group

At the start of December we had a reg group change...We created the new group, went to remove the old group and when prompted select the group we want the students to be members of - all good thought nothing more about it.

 

It now turns out that we have a problem when our attendance person wants to report on the session attendance for the whole year. They select the date range (say 01/09/08 - 30/01/09) and the old reg groups appears and the new one doesn't (as expected) but when a report is run against the old one there is no data returned.

 

How do we get the session attendance data from the old reg group?
