Ben_Stanton Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 Hi guys, I have two manufacturers here, Oki and Sharp. The Oki's are 4350s and the Sharps are MX-2400n MFP. There is a difference in the output of colour. A particular green that comes out of the Oki is different to that of the Sharp even though the source file is the same. I'm not too hot on profiles, calibratin etc. so any help greatly appreciated. Ben
Domino Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 without having a huge run at it, you're gonna end up with differences like this I'm afraid. Do they both use the windows standard printing properties page, or do they have different ones? you could try copying a colour profile from one to another - but unless their colour management is very high i doubt you'll get anywhere
Ben_Stanton Posted January 30, 2009 Author Report Posted January 30, 2009 Thats what I thought. What about if there was a way to print a colour swatch from photoshop. I print to both printers, the colours will be different. But, all I have to do is match the colours by eye and then input the alternative RGB value? Or does that not make sense? If it does and might be a workaround - the next thing I need to do is know If I can print a colour swatch from photoshop (or other) that includes individual rgb values ?!?!?!?
contink Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 I have just the man... ContinuousInk.info :: View topic - Get The Best Colour From Your CIS With A Custom Profile I haven't used him but he has a good rep and can definitely help.
plexer Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 I don't really care that the output from one colour printer is different to another. It's just not worth spending my time on. Ben
