contink Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Given that we now have a full blown project going here can we please have a forum space for this because the social groups system was never intended for this, offers no notification options and loses the use of things like quote, etc.. which makes it harder to follow a thread or make a point. By all means continue to make it group specific on access but please, no more of the social group interface, it's doing my nut in...
Ric_ Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I thought that the social groups worked the same way as the forums now.... I'm pretty sure that notifications work and you can have multiple threads too.
sparkeh Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 (edited) I thought that the social groups worked the same way as the forums now.... I'm pretty sure that notifications work and you can have multiple threads too. They dont appear to, you dont get notified of nice posts etc edit: of course I mean *new* posts, not 'nice' Edited January 28, 2009 by sparkeh
DSapseid Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 They also don't have half the options on the new post tool bar to upload images etc.
ZeroHour Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Right I have enabled quotes etc. Did not realise they were turned off. I will have a look at pic options but private user gallerys is one approach. You guys will get a forum if it cant work, I just want to get the social groups more usable for people. vbulletin 3.8.2 will change the notifications so I would expect them to appear like visitor messages when that comes out but they have not said yet. You can subscribe to the group and it should notify you of new threads I think.
sparkeh Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I still can't seem to quote in threads, perhaps I am just missing something. Also, I just noticed that you can actually subscribe to threads to receive an email notification.
