I was wondering if it's possible to add a slideshow to a content item in Joomla, we are adding competition reports to the website with images in a table at the moment, but just think a slideshow would look better.

We are using Joomla 1.0.

could someone please help?

try looking at the extentions on the Joomla website, theres some nice slideshow options on there. The edugeek package i downloaded had ROK_slideshow built in and that works nicely

Is it possible to embed the slideshow into a content item though, from what i can make out you have to link it to a menu item, i'm trying to get a different slideshow for different content items.

I think so, but i've only been sleeping with Joomla for about 2 weeks....

Is there not some code you put into the standard qwerty editors that links to the extentions. Might be worth a try?

But to be honest im not really sure what your after, I just assign it to the menu I want and then position it where i want in the page...

We are just looking at having a slideshow of photos in the content item, the reason we want different slideshows for different items is so the table tennis pictures don't show up on the football page, if you see what i mean.

I've found something on google that tells me to copy the module i want to use and assign it to an unused position on the joomla site, and enter this line of code in the standard qwerty editor window.

{mosloadposition user5}

replacing user5 with whatever label i've used and it brings up the slideshow module at the bottom of the report for the competition on the content item.

I use Phoca Gallery with the slideshow plugin for content items, which allows you to display images in content items from a category in the gallery, see here I have used it twice in this content item.

That looks good, shame we are only using joomla 1.0, maybe we should look at upgrading to 1.5
