in it's own words

Cain & Abel is a password recovery tool for Microsoft Operating Systems. It allows easy recovery of various kind of passwords by sniffing the network, cracking encrypted passwords using Dictionary, Brute-Force and Cryptanalysis attacks, recording VoIP conversations, decoding scrambled passwords, revealing password boxes, uncovering cached passwords and analyzing routing protocols. The program does not exploit any software vulnerabilities or bugs that could not be fixed with little effort. It covers some security aspects/weakness present in protocol's standards, authentication methods and caching mechanisms; its main purpose is the simplified recovery of passwords and credentials from various sources, however it also ships some "non standard" utilities for Microsoft Windows users.

Very useful tool...

This could solve a problem for us over the summer.

Network Manager is building the domain for himself the way he wants ... including SMS and MOM, etc ... and we need passwords ...

I was going to cough up for LC5 ... but I'll try this first.

Cracking? Gecko?

I remember how certain people in his year got so wound up when they were called script kiddies ... considering that in the previous few years there had actually been some decent coders/hackers ... and one very nifty phreaker too ...

Allegedly.

Gecko's year group seem rather lame and mainly into k3wl speak rather than being h4><0r5 (or whatever the latest trite version of it is)

And just in case people were wondering, Gecko used to be a student at my previous place or work ....

Well as I am sure you know Tony, I didnt hang around or have much to do with the other kids , just kept to myself and did my own thing :)

Cant remember his name but that programmer IT Tech ?

Stuart? Yep .. he's still there ... coding the backend to the GNVQ and DiDA stuff the CTC produces ... In fact the whole team is all there apart from me ...

The teachers may move on fairly quickly, but the support and admin staff last forever ;-)

Yeah Stuart, he told me to go away and look at tutorial sites and do the research and thats exactly what I did and I still have a long way to go but if you look on my edugeek profile I have a link to my experts exchange profile and as I am sure you will see I have made a lot of progress :)

Me and Matt ( I think thats his name ) The network manager at ctc ( At least thats what I think his position is or at least used to be when I was there ) got along very well and I used to talk to him a lot about computery stuff.

I never did see the point in l33t sp34k or any of that when I was at ctc, As I am sure you know I had my samsung laptop in 6th form and I was on my laptop 99.99% of the time lol.
