GrumbleDook Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Evenin' all Just to give you all advance notice that on March 10th EMBC and Synetrix will be holding a Conference for Network Managers, IT Co-ordinators, companies providing support for schools and other stake holders. This will be full day conference in Loughborough. Full details and booking forms will appear on the EMBC portal soon, but I just wanted to make sure you book the date in your dairy. There will be presentations and some workshops (full details to follow) but there should be something for everyone (primary and secondary / large schools and small schools). For Northants members, this will replace the IT Managers' Meeting for March.
SpuffMonkey Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Full details and booking forms will appear on the EMBC portal soon, but I just wanted to make sure you book the date in your dairy. A date in a dairy - sounds cheesy!

Kitkatninja Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Hopefully, I'll get to go. Already marked my calendar and e-mailed my manager -Ken
kmount Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 It'd be better if they bothered spending time on creating a questionnaire that doesn't allow you to select more than one answer on questions that only require one answer. A quick check would have stopped that happening, oh and the the blatant typo in one of the earlier questions. Sloppy.
FreeWill Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Looks like this would be quite useful. Someone forgot the year though!
sparkeh Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 (edited) Bah clashes with the LEAMIS SIMS event that I am attending. Shame, would have useful, and nice to meet people. edit: scratch that, I just can't read a calendar. Edited February 11, 2009 by sparkeh
sparkeh Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 So I guess there will be a few Edugeekers there. We should get together at lunch to chew the fat (metaphorically, I am not commenting on the standard of the lunch)
russdev Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 I will make sure I where my edugeek lanyard then (can't get away with the shirt due to going on behalf of the school). So easiest way is find me and say hello. Russ
russdev Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 You see there is a reason my pic is my avater it is for this very reason. So edugeekers can come and say hello to me when I am to various events etc
kmount Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Yes, because saying hello is top of our list
russdev Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Ok maybe hitting me and then say hello better to talk to me than those LA bods... On serious note made mission while back any time I go anywhere to events etc to talk to at least one edugeek member. Sometimes I manage that sometimes I don't.. Russ
sparkeh Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Russ has a good point. If you use a silly avatar like mine then you could give Russ a lift to the RM conference, spend most of the day talking to him then get a PM then next day on here asking why I hadn't said hello to him
kmount Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 No no, you'd know if you met Russ. .. Many from Northants are now thinking "or that gobby bloke Kim."
GrumbleDook Posted February 12, 2009 Author Posted February 12, 2009 No comment. If Northants folks are going can you let me know ... thinking about car sharing, etc.
russdev Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 In my defence at Marks comments at time he did not use his real name and did not have any details on his profile. Ok I was tired leave me alone... You know I am brainwashed when go to RM Confs is that dam chip in my head.. Russ
kmount Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 I'm brainwashed but I blame the bar .. *hic*
GrumbleDook Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 A quick bump to remind people to book now before all the places go. It doesn't look like any of the sessions will be streamed or recorded this time round so if you want to see stuff, you have to be there. Looking forward to seeing you there.
sparkeh Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Did anyone get any kind of confirmation of their place after booking? I didn't and I can't remember which sessions I booked, any way of finding out?
kmount Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I got an acceptance confirmation earlier today but no, and I can't recall which ones I booked either.
sparkeh Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I got an acceptance confirmation earlier today but no, and I can't recall which ones I booked either. Wow talk about timing, just got the confirmation (still can't remember what I booked though )
kmount Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 We're techies, they won't expect us to remember by then.
