What Backup Tape Drive/HBA Card??

Morning All,

 

I'm looking to upgrade our Backup tape drives & SCSI Controllers.

 

I've inherited two rack mounted HP Storageworks 448 LTO2 Drives, both connected by external SCSI cable to our Admin and Academic Servers respectively. The drives are connected to a LSI SCSI HBA in each server.

 

The long and the short of it is that the drives nor SCSI HBA work well with the HP DL380 G4 Servers and are continually giving errors and have been replaced more times than I care to mention.

 

I've sent a several memos about the subject to the SMT and now that we've lost data, they're willing to spend some cash on it.

 

So can I have your recomendations on which way to go with my choice of hardware?
