I've just been to install the latest tests on our machines and one is reporting that it

"This workstation contains pupil data that has not been returned to the APS"

I can't access the Management menus, I don't seem to be able to do anything with it. What I don't understand is that it connects up fine in the first place.

Any ideas on how to force this through?

I have had this problem. The quickest solution is to uninstall the DPS and delete "c:\program files\ QCA Testing" folder (and every thing in it) then reinstall the DPS and the required tests.

You can probably just delete the relevant log files if you know which ones - I havent tried this method as I could not be bothered to hunt around.

I've had the same issue and after being with the development team for about a week they have said that I can delete the files concerned from the pc's.

I'm waiting for the instructions on what to delete and I'll post them here.

Cool, thanks guys. I think a delete and reinstall is necessary...

Russ - I would, but I can't even log on as a manager onto the DPS on the relevant machine!

Now remind me whose clever idea it was to put this appalling piece of software into schools for online testing...??

We have the same problem, I have just spent best part of an hour on phone with 2nd level tech support at RM, no solution yet. Student completed part 1 of test, but cannot do part 2 as part 1 data not uploaded. The workstation he was using is stuck in the same situation. Only indication of a problem was Flightdeck showing 'No contact' for student session.

It was put into schools, by a bunch of people who sit round a desk and say 'we want this, do it or else'. Hence we got buggy, unreliable software because people don't understand the full impact of things

//rant over

On a more serious note I deleted the QCA directory and reinstalled and it worked fine. I also tried to delete the logs but found it quicker to uninstall/reinstall

Hmm... just found another PC in the same situation. Today we also had a student start her second test session, whereupon the DPS application ended without her doing anything & Flightdeck showed her as finished. That was the end of her test!

Ok if you have machines that wont let anyone else logon due to data needing to be uploaded you need to delete the contents of the following

c:\Program Files\QCA Testing\Delivery Point System\TDS\Backup

and

c:\Program Files\QCA Testing\Delivery Point System\TDS\Upload\IDBPSets

However if there is genuine data that hasn't been uploaded this will destroy it.

I sent logs from my stations to RM and they found out that on my affected machines the info had been uploaded so I am safe to do this.

Anyone else does so at their own risk.

Many thanks - thats just sorted out a problem I've been awaiting a call back on - cheers.

Now - has anybody else got this problem where chunks of stuff get dislpayed and then won't disappear on screen?
