tmcd35 Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Interesting read over at the Beeb BBC NEWS | Technology | Ofcom benchmarks broadband speeds On average consumers get 45% of the speed they pay for, with 3.6Gbps being the UK average online speed. Makes me think if I've been getting 10Mbps from Virgin and paying for 20Mbps, what's going to happen now I've 'downgraded' to 10Mbps. My line obviously supports a full 10Mbps speed. Am I only going to get 5Mbps?

mrforgetful Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I've never had any problem with my Virgin connection and I've had it around 8 years. Sure it's out of line that they reduce my speed when I overuse the connection, but that happens less now I've got my new Xbox...

ICT_GUY Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 No end of probs with tiscali. Now with BT, constant 8 megs daytime drops to 4 in the evening. Which is miles better than the 0.5 or less with tiscali.
