All In One printing

I want an all in one printer, its needs to support stand alone photocopying and have a flatbed scanner (cant be doing with that feeding thingy)

 

Firstly, what other forums am I better of posting in? Its not for school use but at an archive centre (photocopying old documents etc) are there any sites that review printers?

 

Whats a decent make? decent model? price range is up to £200 but anything less is obviously better. Has to do colour too.

Had sucess with the HP multifunction printers in the past. We don't have many but the ones we do have are reliable. My only niggle is the cost of ink.

HP OfficeJet 6210s here, i get em currently at £125ish, no complaints so far apart form the ink costs.

The only reason I hesitate on this one is because you referred to "archiving" and inkjets aren't really going to much good if you want to keep things for long periods.

 

That aside, I can't recommend enough the Canon MP750 (discontinued) or the MP780 (on the way out). The quality, speed and functionality is excellent and despite some reported gripes with the fax drivers (780 only - not an issue given your spec) it works very well.

 

They also benefit from the fact that they are pre-chip Canon printers so consumables are still very low and I even managed to rig up a CIS kit for my own MP750 to reduce the cost even further.

 

The MP500 has yet to prove itself (I'm playing with one now) and so far it's as good as the MP750/780 but the cartridges are chipped which kicks any cost effectiveness out the window..
