After our sims upgrade SQL2008 changed to port 1714

we changed the freedts.conf to

 

[global]
host = x.x.x.x
port = 1714
client charset = UTF-8
tds version = 7.0
text size = 20971520

 

and updated the databases section in moodle to 1714.

We needed to re-run /enrol/database/enrol_database_sync.php to repopulate courses

Thats interesting as I had entirely forgotten about the freetds config so didn't change that. & yet it seems to work... Spooky, my moodle has become sentient!

Check the port number. I think the default has changed to 1433. Also check the DB username and password as SQL 2008 made the password need to be more complex. Also don't forget to change the academic year field.

 

Beyond that as far as I am aware it is all working here.

 

Still unable to setup port for sims instance on SQL 2008 server, Any suggestions please.

Sorry I'm not sure I understand. So you have checked the port being used by SQL 2008, changed the settings in Moodle, checked the username and password for the DB is correct and it is still no working?

problem is on sql 2008 server side, unable to establish port for sql instance on sql server configuration.

Hi All, sorry to dig up an old thread, but I need SIMS.net enrolment plugin which should be available from here but it downloads with a password annoyingly. Help enyone?
