sdc Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) Hi I am having an issue with the Remote Desktop MMC console. I have set up an MMC to list all of our servers, and I can simply double-click the one I want to remotely access. Suddenly this is not working - I can manually remote desktop to the servers (using MSTSC) but if I choose a server from the MMC list I get "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" and the suggestion that I try refreshing the page, which tells me that the program cannot display the webpage. I'm stumped! Any suggestions? Thanks Stephen Edited December 17, 2008 by sdc Typo!
Gatt Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Can you create a blank MMC and add the Remote Desktops console to that?
sdc Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 Can you create a blank MMC and add the Remote Desktops console to that? Tried that; same problem.
sdc Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 Also tried reinstalling the AdminPak. No difference...!
Gatt Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Is it just that one console? If not sounds like your MMC is corrupted. try this to see if it repairs it... how to mend it .com - how can i repair my corrupted mmc?
sdc Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 Seems to be just the remote desktop snap-in that's affected. Tried that Batch file, and rebooted, but no change, I'm afraid!
Gatt Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Just came across this Remote Desktops (tsmmc.msc) broken 1

OutToLunch Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Not sure how much control the MMC provides, but I find RoyalTS invaluable here - Royal TS Overview May be worth looking at as an alternative if you need other option in future. Also very handy as you can export the controlled servers list and take it away with you - say to use at home over VPN etc. 1
