ZEN MicroPhoto & Win Vista

Evening all,

 

Have a slight problem which my mate has tasked me with, and i just dont know whats wrong.

 

She has a ZEN MicroPhoto 8GB, and has recently brought a new PC with Windows Vista on

 

Now these ZEN MicroPhoto MP3 players are supposed to be vista compaitable.

 

The problem she is having is that the MP3 player is saying pleas update firmware from what i can gather, it asks to use the USB.

 

She plugs it into her computer and vista detects it and installs the drivers and it shows up in device manager etc.

 

But when she goes to the programme that comes with the mp3 player, and even when she goes to the firmware upgrade tool it says ZEN MicroPhoto not connected to computer.

 

She gets a charging icon on the mp3 player so it does that at the least.

 

Does anyone know whats wrong, and would be so nice to tell me how to fix this as its driving me bonkers.

 

* as i have never used one i dont know what settings should be on the mp3 player itsself, so sorry if its something simple.. *
